Welcome to One History

One History, EC1 in the making, is a project to highlight, celebrate and record the rich history of the EC1 area of London carried out by King’s College London researchers and funded by EC1 New Deal for Communities.

EC1, also known as Finsbury, is an area in the south of the London Borough of Islington.

EC1 in the making

The aim of One History is to produce a lasting people's history of the area.

The results of the One History project are:

• articles about the history of the area
• recordings of interviews with EC1 residents (people’s histories)
• walking trails (the St John Street trail and the Black Cat Trail)
• a full report of the researchers’ findings
